Analysing Current Economic Issues CIA4U1
This course examines current national and global economic trends and policies from diverse perspectives. Students will explore the impact of choices that individuals and institutions, including governments, make in responding to local, national, and global economic issues such as globalization and global economic inequalities, trade agreements, national debt, taxation, social spending, and consumer debt. Students will apply the concepts of economic thinking and the economic inquiry process, including economic models, to investigate, and develop informed opinions about, current economic issues and to help them make reasoned economic decisions. This course helps students to meet Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations by enabling each person to become a responsible citizen who witnesses Catholic social teaching by promoting equality, democracy, and solidarity for a just, peaceful and compassionate society.

Financial Accounting Principles BAT4M1
This course introduces students to advanced accounting principles that will prepare them for post secondary studies in business. Students will learn about financial statements for various forms of business ownership and how those statements are interpreted in making business decisions.This course expands students’ knowledge of sources of financing, further develops accounting methods for assets, and introduces accounting for partnerships and corporations. This course helps students to meet Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations by enabling each person to become a self-directed, responsible, life long learner who sets appropriate goals and priorities in school, work and personal life.

Sports and Entertainment Marketing - IDC 4U2
The Sports and Entertainment Marketing interdisciplinary course emphasizes the development of practical skills and knowledge to solve problems, make decisions, create personal meaning, and present findings related to the growing Sports and Entertainment Marketing industry. Through individual and collaborative inquiry students will use a range of print, electronic and mass media resources to research into contemporary issues, real-life situations, and careers related to Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Students will acquire knowledge in the areas of ethics, consumer behaviour, consumer research, product development, pricing strategies, advertising, public relations/publicity, event marketing, endorsement, promotional licensing, sponsorship, product distribution, stadium design, legal issues and career opportunities in Sports and Entertainment Marketing.
